We started our last day in Pittsburgh
with breakfast at the other Eat'nPark on McKnight Blvd. We then went
downtown to explore Station Square. Our first adventure was going to be
a river boat tour but due to high waters the boats were shut down. As
we arrived at the area I spotted the old Duquesne Incline. I had always
asked my Dad to take me up the Duquesne Incline but he never got around
to it. Well today was the day. It was a little scary but they have been
running every day for the last 130 years so I guess it has been well tested. What a view.
You will see in the pictures that the best view of Pittsburgh is from
the top of that hill. It is known as Duquesne Heights (quite a distance
from Duquesne), the adjoining nneighborhood on the same hill is called
Mount Washington. We had a recommendation from a client in Cleveland to
try a restaurant named Le Mont. We had no idea where it was and by
chance found it in Duquesne Heights right down the street from the top
of the Incline. Later that night we would find that this place is even
better that Rico's.
Here are a few pics:
